14020 SHELDON ADA TOTAL EXPERIENCEâ II LABORATORY CENTER

Educational requirements -- generally a 4-student activity center with accessible provisions for the disabled. This center is designed for four (4) students which include provisions for accessible elements required in the "ADA Accessibility Guidelines" for two (2) wheelchair spaces along with sink and services. Table is provided with bi-level work surface to accommodate maximum 32" wheelchair height.

Support structure formed to accept suspended cubicle storage in combinations of apparatus/material cubicles or individual containers like carryalls and tote trays. Fully enclosed sides and bottom protecting service piping and electrical wiring. Removable access panels on underside located immediately below service connections.

Full-length trough with service turrets on each end. Trough designed to accept accessories including chemical dispensing rack for chemistry and trough covers to provide flush work surface for Physics.

Center steel pedestal allows for attaching support structure at various heights to provide finished bi-level work heights of 34"/32" and 33"/31".

Physical Requirements -- Work top: (One side) 67 3/8" across corners (minimum 3,020 square inches of student work area); (One side) 73 3/8" across corners (minimum 3,350 square inches of student work area.) Top of 1" thick Shelresin with raised perimeter edge.

Pedestal base of 10 gauge formed steel cubicle 14 3/4" square with 3/4" radius corners. Steel 3/16" corner gusset attached to pedestal interior for bolting pedestal to floor. Two (2) access panels (opening 10" X 25") secured to pedestal to be removable for access to services.

Series of bolt holes in pedestal base allows for attaching top support structure at various heights to provide different finished work heights at time of installation.

Top support structure of molded glass fiber reinforced structural polyester with 3/4" radius on all exterior corners. Top support structure to fully enclose service piping and wiring. Removable access panels on underside of top support structure located immediately below plumbing and electrical service connections. Top support structure shaped and reinforced to accept two (2) suspended cubicle storage and two (2) wheelchair accessible spaces.

Work surface is 1" thick black Shelresin including molded raised perimeter edge. One-piece molded Shelresin trough with service turret at each end. Trough size - minimum 55" L X 9" W X 5 1/4" D at center and 4 3/4" D at ends (I.D.). Service turrets - minimum 9 ½" X 4 ½" above work surface. Service turrets designed to position outlet of water fitting minimum of 15" above trough bottom in order to accommodate large containers and other objects within trough.

Two (2) G.F.I. duplex electrical outlets located in top support structure service, two (2) Unicast combination cold water with wrist blade and double gas cock fittings located on service turrets. Two (2) sets of upright rod sockets on each side of trough.

Activity Center, when combined with pedestal base, top support structure and top and properly bolted to floor, shall support 250 lbs. live load at the center perimeter. Internal piping and wiring not included.

Wheelchair accessible side of table shall be identified with a sign indicating the "International Symbol of Accessibility."
