Crime Watch Report - TPD Officer James Bird (891-4392, )

  • Gave an update/summary of crime in our neighborhood
  • You can pull up crime statistics at any time
  • There is a quick link to the police on the left side of the talgov.com homepage; you can use it to report issues on-line, as well as request a residential check
  • Beware of folks asking to fix your windshield – don’t use Coast to Coast, scam artists; you don’t have to talk to people who come to your door. Also beware of people going around asking for money or to mow your yard, these are also scam artists. Don’t open your door to strangers!

Program

Sergeant Art Shepherd, Patrol Division, Community Relations Unit was our guest

  • Be relentless in reporting concerns to the Tallahassee Police Department
  • Lock your car doors and take your valuables with you – don’t give folks an opportunity, whether at home or shopping, etc.
  • Call Animal Control for problems with barking dogs
  • In order for the police to do something about a problem, they must have a valid complaint – you must be willing to give your name. We have not had issues with retaliation.

Minutes - It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the April meeting as printed; motion passed.
