For the second year, my husband Tom and I have the opportunity to host a world-class pianist in our home—Francesco Attesti of Cortona, Italy.
This young man is extremely talented and performs regularly in internationally prestigious concert halls like: Philharmonic Hall of Saint Petersburg, Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow, Mozarteum of Salzburg, Philharmonic Essen, International Piano Festival of Warsaw, Sarajevo Winter Festival, Cambridge University, Leicester University, Columbia University in New York, Denver University in Colorado, and the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan.
On February 14, 2016, he will be performing a concert for charityin our home. This concert is co-sponsored by Tom and me and the Salinas Santa Lucia Rotary Club. All profits from this event will be donated to Kinship Center.
Since 1984, Kinship Center has helped build and strengthen families for thousands of children of all ages: those who can no longer remain safely with their birth parents because of abuse and neglect, those who have been abandoned, and also those who are voluntarily relinquished for adoption as infants by their birth parents.
Kinship Center has been honored nationally for their life-changing outcomes for more than 2,500 children each year through a variety of programs, including adoption, therapeutic foster care, kinship (relative) care, mental health services for children and families, intensive support for families in crisis, prevention programs to keep children out of child welfare, and nationally recognized education and training for parents and professionals.
Kinship Center’s impact extends far beyond the children and families who receive direct services. The organization has taken a leadership role in the child welfare community and its programs have become models throughout the country. This ground-breaking influence has resulted in systemic changes that are dramatically improving the outcomes for children who cannot safely remain with their birth families.

As you can see from the attached invitation, the number of seats is limited so that each guest may have the rare opportunity to meet and get to know the incredibly talented Sig. Attesti
If you can join us, please let me know right away so that I may reserve your space. If you are not able to join us, a donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested in being a sponsor of this event, please see the attached “Donor/Sponsorship Program.” We have different levels of sponsorship. I think you will agree, Kinship Center is an extremely worthwhile cause.
You can reserve your space or make a donation either by mailing your check payable to Santa Lucia Rotary Foundation and mail to Karen Worthington, 215 West Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93901, or by credit card. If you would like to pay by credit card, please call me at 831-594-0884 and I will be happy to take your information over the phone.
It promises to be a great evening of music, food and wine and an opportunity to provide much needed support to many of the children in our own community.
Hope to see you on February 14!
Karen Worthington
