[Guidance

A cover sheet should be no more than two sides of A4, single line spacing, left justifiedand Arial 11 should be used throughout. The cover sheet should put across the key points of the report and we usually advise people to write the cover sheet with the thought in mind that if the member of the Council had limited time and therefore could only read the cover sheet, will the cover sheet highlight the key points to the member of the Council sufficiently enough for them to understand what is being asked of them?

If the accompanying report is very brief and clear you may not be required to complete the key points section above. If you would like advice on this, please send your draft report to in plenty of time before the draft report deadline for the attention of the Assistant Registrars (Governance) so thatwhoever is supporting the meeting of the Council can review it and give appropriate advice.

If your report is a summary of a Committee meeting, please use the ‘Committee Reporting’ cover sheet template.

The Assistant Registrars (Governance) will assign and type in the report and agenda numbers once they receive your final report. Any questions, please contact the Assistant Registrars (Governance) via in the first instance.

To avoid issues related to version control, please request a copy of your report from the Assistant Registrars (Governance) if you need to make amendments after the report has been submitted.
