FOR THE GENERAL MEETING OnOctober6th, 2015

  1. Cheque Disbursement reviewed – July, August & September
  1. Labour Management Formwork Committee – Fall seminar Nov 4 to 8th in Nassau, members were asked to submit any considerations for negotiation prior to the seminar.
  1. College of Trades–

Hoisting Trade Board –they are seeking to establish a Red Seal for mobile and tower cranes

CCW – next meeting October 15

  1. WSIB Rate Framework review – members were advised of the CEC submission which we are part of, stating the position of our association. Members were email a copy of the submission. Members were also given a hand out of the representation of the 748 rate group
  1. Prompt Payment Ontario – a submission will be made by the end of October following the statistics from the survey that was sent out, which included our members.

i)Trustee’s Report

a) Vacation Pay Trust Fund – S. Cirone – no report

b) Benefit Trust Fund – D. Cancian – meeting October 21

c) Training Trust Fund – D. Cancian – meeting October 29

d) Prepaid Legal Trust Fund – M. Della Donne, no meeting

e) L793 Training Trust Fund – D. Cancian, had meeting on September 29, they are pursuing funding from the government for a top climber for their Oakville yard.

ii) Committee Reports

a)CSAO Provincial– WSIB Rate frozen for 2016

- discussed Mandatory Entry Level and how it may apply to everyone.

b)Delinquency Control – nothing to report

c)CSAO High-rise Labour/Management

– Competent Formwork Inspection presentation, still developing the in class module

-Concrete workability, members were advised that this committee was looking at getting statistics for back injuries for raking or shovelling concrete

- Fusing of PVC Waterstop –need to find or develop data sheets

d)CSA A23.1 – sub-committee – had one meeting need to arrange next meeting.

  1. Other Business

a)MOL – will be looking for loads being lifted without tag lines especially in windy or dangerous conditions.

b)Discussion on getting an engineer to create a “book of typical details” for all members of the association to use for their shoring drawings, OFA to get a quote from an engineer for doing so.
