For safe discharging/loading of Bulk/Liquid Carriers
SOYA HELLAS : N 38o 33,89’ E 23o 35,86’
LOCATION : Soya Hellas is located approximately 6 miles NW from Chalkis port.
CHARTS : Hellenic Hydrographic Service Chart No 313
WORKING HOURS : Operations take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
SHIFTS: Monday to Sunday 06:00 hrs – 14:00 hrs
14:00 hrs - 22:00 hrs
22:00 hrs – 06:00 hrs
ANCHORAGE : The suggested anchorage position is 0.5 miles west of the terminal.
PILOTAGE : Pilotage is compulsory for all foreign flag vessels and all Greek flag vessels over 1.800 Dwt. In addition to above, vessels up to 7000 dwt are required to use 1 tug boat and over 7000 dwt, 2 tug boats.
RESTRICTIONS : No night berthing / unberthing for vessels requiring pilot services.
TECHNICAL DATA OF THE TERMINAL & DISCHARGING / LOADING EQUIPMENT:
Soya Hellas Terminal: The terminal consists of four platforms (Nr2, Nr0, Nr3, Nr4). Center to center distance between platforms is 50 m. Each platform is equipped at seaside with a “TRELLEX” fender MV 0.45X1.50X1.70 m.
Platforms Nr0, Nr3, Nr4 are equipped at shore side with three fenders dimensions Φ 1.40 m - L 1.45 m.
A) Discharge equipment:
- Bulk cargoes
The discharging equipment is composed of 2 unloaders, each capacity 100 tn/hr, in order to discharge cargo from vessel’s holds. A conveyor belt, 375 m length, transfers the cargo to the warehouses.

- Liquid cargoes (vegetable oils)
Cargoes are transferred through two pipelines from vessel’s manifold to shore tanks, using pressure by vessel’s pumps.
B) Loading Equipment:
Bulk cargoes are conveyed through a conveyor belt of length 375 m, an elevator and a loading chute into vessel’s hold.
WATER DENSITY AT THE BERTH : Density 1.0278 kg/lt at 13oC
MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM SIZE OF VESSEL WHICH THE TERMINAL’S FACILITIES ARE DISIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE:
a) Discharging
Max size LOA 220 m, BM 26.0 m, Displacement 47400 tn, Draft fwd 12.0 m, Draft aft 12.0 m, Airdraft 20.0 m.
b) Loading
Max size LOA 160 m, BM 20.0 m, Displacement 5000 tn, Draft 12.0 m, Airdraft 10.0 m,.
