How to complete this challenge

Complete 6 challenges to earn the crest / Complete 7 challenges to earn the crest

Once you have completed the assigned number of challenges, fill out the Completion Formand return to Guide House along with $1.50 for each crest.

Activities

Part a. Invite a Pathfinder or Ranger who has travelled internationally with Girl Guides to visit your unit to do a presentation of her travels. She may have travelled on a Nationally-Sponsored trip, a Provincially-Sponsored trip or an Independent Trip. You may contact your District Commissioner or Area International Advisor if you need help finding a girl who has travelled.
Part b. Prepare a Q&A session. You might ask her questions about how she prepared for her trip, fundraising, and/or challenges she faced while travelling, etc…
/ Visit Global Learning Online for WAGGGS and complete the i-Lead course. The course contains 7 sessions, each 20 minutes long that are completed online.

Host a session on how to apply for a Nationally-Sponsored trip. Create a panel of “experts” to answer questions and lead the group through the application process. Invite a girl and/or Guider who has been accepted in the past and/or your Area International Advisor to act on the panel. You may contact your District Commissioner or Area International Advisor if you need help finding Members who have travelled.
Investigate the planning process for an international Independent Trip. What Safe Guide paperwork is required? What is the timeline? Are there restrictions on where you can go and what activities you can participate in?

Plan and execute an international evening for a younger age group.
Prepare an international meal, international game or traditional international activity to share with your unit.

Think of creative ways to raise money for the Canadian World Friendship Fund (CWFF). Put your ideas into practice to raise $5 per member in your unit

Imagine a fantasy international trip. Where will you go? Where will you stay? What will you do while you are there? Create a budget for your trip including flights and accommodations, meals, activities, uniform, passport, etc…

/ Hold an International Day of the Girl instant meeting.

Research the fundraising guidelines for an international trip. What activities are acceptable and what activities are not. Contact your District Commissioner to find out the process of having fundraising plans approved in your Area.
