Greetings families,

It is our sincere pleasure to welcome you to Hunter GT / AIG Magnet Elementary School for the 2017 – 2018 school year. We look forward to partnering with your family to ensure the best school year possible!

The Hunter school and PTA are pleased to welcome your family to “Popsicles on the Playground.” This event will take place on the front Hunter Playground on Friday, August 18th from 2:00 – 3:30 pm, and is for families who are new to Hunter. As a part of our time together, students will enjoy popsicles, meet with staff from their respective grade levels, and will have a chance to connect with new friends. Parents will have a chance to join the PTA, purchase PTA Hunter merchandise, sign up for carpool and / or walker privileges, and get to know what is in store for the upcoming school year. We will even have a yellow school bus on site for our younger students who would like to try getting on the school bus for the very first time!

For Parents of Rising Kindergarten Students

Enclosed in this mailing, you will also find your child’s date and time for Kindergarten Staggered Entry on the sticker that your child should wear on their staggered entry day. During the first week of school, August 28th – September 1st, all kindergarten students will participate in Kindergarten Staggered Entry by coming to school for just one day. This allows the students to acclimate to school in a smaller group, and it allows our teachers to assess students’ social, physical, and academic needs. For a kindergarten student’s staggered entry day, the kindergartener may ride the bus or may come through carpool, and the student will be at school for normal hours from 8:45 am until 3:45 pm. Kindergarten students may bring a lunch or they may purchase a lunch in the cafeteria. Please note, all kindergarten students and parents are invited to “Kindergarten Meet the Teacher” on Friday, September1st from 11:30 – 12:30 pm.
