MUSIC SCHEDULE AT ARTS & ACTS

Arts & Acts is Northville’s summer art extravaganza and will be the go-to festival of the season! In just one weekend, June 24-26, you’ll be able to experience art, music, film and theatre in charming historic downtown Northville.

The musical lineup for the Arts and Acts weekend will be eclectic and fun, with something for everyone. There will be great guitarists, singers and bands. Both local and regional acts will perform in downtown during the summer art fair. It will be a great weekend for music!

Performances begin on Friday from 7-9 pm with George Bedard and the Kingpins from Ann Arbor. Bedard has legendary status among musicians; his band from the late 70’s was one of the forerunners of the blues/rockabilly revival. Saturday’s lineup will begin with Chris Brantley from 1-2:30 pm. Chris is best known for his electric guitar work in Mitch Ryder’s band and will be doing a solo acoustic show. Up next from 3-4:30 pm will be Gia Warner, a fabulous singer/songwriter who will be performing with her guitarist. Next up from 5-6:30 pm is local group, Apollo, led by singer Taber Harold who has a similar style to U2 and Coldplay. The headliner act on Saturday evening from 7-9 pm. is Stewart Francke. Stewart was recently the opening act for a Bob Seger concert. His new CD with Bruce Springsteen helping out on one cut should be available at Arts & Acts. The music will wrap up Sunday with the cover band, The Reasons Y, a four-piece group playing classic rock and dance tunes with great harmony vocals.

For the second year, 2 Stones Events is organizing the music; coordinator Whitney McClellan-Stone is very excited about the solid lineup. All performances are free and open to the public and will be held on Main Street in the Downtown Northville Town Square.
