First County Bank Presenting Sponsor Of
34th Annual Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival
NORWALK, Conn., Aug. 4, 2011 -- The Norwalk Seaport Association announces that this year’s presenting sponsor of the Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival is First County Bank. The bank has been an ongoing supporter of the Festival since 2007, increasing its financial commitment each year culminating in this year’s presenting sponsorship.
The “Norwalk Seaport Association’s Oyster Festival Presented by First County Bank” will take place September 9 – 11, 2011 with music from nationally known-bands, Soul Asylum, Fuel and Silverado, as well as other entertainment and attractions, rides, cooking competitions, arts and crafts and much more. The festival helps fulfill the Norwalk Seaport Association’s mission of celebrating and raising public awareness of Norwalk’s maritime heritage.
Karen M. Kelly, first vice president and director of marketing for First County Bank, says the bank has become more involved with the Oyster Festival over the years and this year decided to become the main sponsor. “The bank sees the Oyster Festival as a hallmark event in Fairfield County and with branches from Greenwich to Westport, three in Norwalk alone, it is important to First County Bank as a community bank to support the festival.” In addition to being the main sponsor, the bank will be the “Welcoming Gate Sponsor” and will sell tickets for the festival at all 15 First County Bank branches throughout lower Fairfield County.
“Every year we hear positive feedback about the Oyster Festival from our customers and employees. Selling tickets at our branches is just one more thing the bank can do to help promote the event,” Kelly adds.
