CertainTeed’s New Restoration Millwork® FinishedEdge™ Extends Quality to Every Edge

(Valley Forge, Pa.) – CertainTeed Corporation is enhancing its line of Restoration Millwork® PVC trim with a compelling new feature. Building on its extensive portfolio of authentic, low-maintenance exterior products, the product’s new FinishedEdge™ provides a crisp, clean edge for Restoration Millwork trimboards and corners by heat-sealing the edges using a proprietary process that creates a quality, smooth finish.

FinishedEdge is trimmed perfectly flat for tighter tolerances so that the board is sealed at every touch point, creating a flawless, clean appearance. Because the feature eliminates problematic grooves and pockets that allow dirt to collect on the surface, no cleaning or maintenance is necessary to keep trimboards looking cleaner and whiter longer. While the product does not require painting, builders or homeowners that wish to add color have a paint-ready surface –— no sanding or finishing required. Its paintability, along with its ability to be heat-formed into curves and arches and the option of TrueTexture™ or Smooth finish, offer builders and homeowners a host of design options.

“Restoration Millwork is the finishing touch that refines and polishes the look of a home,” says Rick Brinton, business manager for CertainTeed Restoration Millwork. “CertainTeed’s new FinishedEdge feature further positions Restoration Millwork trim as the superior choice to increase quality and curb appeal.”
Restoration Millwork exterior trim looks and feels like wood, yet resists freezing during winter months and is impervious to wood-boring insect damage. It comes ready to install in a long-lasting Natural White color, which is also easy to paint. Restoration Millwork is available in a variety of dimensional lumber and sheet widths and thicknesses with consistent dimensions for an accurate finish. Additionally, it complements vinyl, wood, stucco, fiber cement and brick siding and is ideal for single- and multi-family housing, light commercial developments and remodeling projects.

Restoration Millwork cuts, shapes, routs and mills with ordinary woodworking tools, and fastens with nails or screws. It can be bent for geometric window surrounds and features a 25-year limited warranty. For more details, see the warranty where the product is sold.
