Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Armed Robbery Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the below pictured suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred today.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., police officers were flagged down by a concerned citizen who alerted them to a robbery in progress at the Gulf Gas Station, located at 242 Elizabeth Avenue. Two armed black men exited an older model, gray 4-door Dodge Ram 1500, and demanded cash. After taking the money, the suspects re-entered the vehicle, driven by a third suspect. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound onto Frelinghuysen Avenue.

The first suspect is described as 6-feet tall and approximate 200 lbs. He was wearing a black and gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The second suspect is also 6-feet tall and about 200 lbs. He was wearing a red and gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. No description is available on the driver.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets. This investigation is continuing.
