YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP TOURNAMENT

TOURNAMENT RULES:

  1. The tournament is open to all USBC Certified bowlers.
  2. The entry fee is $22.00, with the cost of bowling $5.00, $1.25 for expenses, and $15.75 for scholarship prizes.
  3. Both Boys and Girls will have separate Divisions. $500.00 is GUARANTEED FOR FIRST PLACE IN EACH DIVISION BOYS AND GIRLS SCRATCH AND HANDICAP.
  4. A $25.00 Scholarship will be awarded to both boys and girls for the high scratch game in each division, provided they did not qualify for any other scholarship.
  5. Scholarships awarded on a ratio of 1 to 8.
  6. The format will be three games bowled on one pair of lanes.
  7. All bowlers will use their highest 2012-2013 book average, based on a minimum of 12 games. If no book average is available, they shall use their current average as of October 12th, 2013. Those bowlers not having 12 games as of that date, will use their average as of the date 12 games are obtained. That date must be prior to the first date of an individual’s competition. All others will bowl scratch. 10 Pin rule Will Be In Effect. If a bowlers’ average is 10 pins or higher then the previous season’s average, as of the date of bowling, the bowler must use their highest current league average. Failure to give correct average could result in a disqualification and loss of any scholarship won. COACHES SHOULD BE SURE THAT IF A BOWLER COMPETES IN MORE THAN ONE LEAGUE, INCLUDEING TRAVELING LEAGUES, THE HIGHEST AVERAGE IS USED!
  8. Handicap, in its respective division, will be 90% of 200.
  9. Bowlers will compete in two different divisions (boys and girls) Bowlers may enter the tournament up to three times, but a bowler may only win one scholarship.
  10. Bowlers should check-in at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled bowling shift. Bowlers will receive a zero for any frames missed.
  11. In case of a tie, the prizes for the positions affected are to be equally divided.
