Interfaith Power & Light has been mobilizing a religious response to global warming for the past 16 years, reaching thousands of faith communities and millions of people in the pews about the important role of people of faith have to play in addressing global warming.

Interfaith Power & Light’s annual program of climate-themed worship services is now a whole week of activities from April 15th – 24th, 2016 in celebration of Earth Day (April 22) when the Paris Agreement to address climate change will be signed at the U.N. in New York. The theme of Faith Climate Action Week is “Paris and Beyond,” because meeting the Paris Agreement’s goal of keeping global warming under 2 degrees Celsius will require participation from everyone. Some congregations will be signing the Paris Pledge to cut their own emissions, in solidarity with the national commitments. Join the Faith Climate Action Week activities by:

  • Find sample sermons and talk s along with ideas for planning your own
  • Join the Nationwide Climate prayer at 12 noon your time
  • Have individuals and congregations sign the Paris Pledge
  • Host a screening and discussion of the movie Racing Extinction
  • Plan or attend an event -These can be found the Faith Climate Action week event calendar
  • Join a postcard and letter writing campaign
  • Join the petition to tell the presidential candidates that you support fighting climate change
  • Sign up member to join the national faith movement to combat climate change
