  1. Goods of special importance

As already mentioned, the main objective of the museum is the collection of paintings by José Benlliure Gil and José Benlliure Ortiz. In addition to these, there are other outstanding artists to mention, such as Mariano Benlliure, Juan Antonio Benlliure, Blas Benlliure, Joaquín Sorolla, Muñoz Degraín, Rusiñol, Evaristo Valle, Juan Luna Novicio, Ricardo Verde, Evaristo Valle, among others.

The majority of these artistic works are exposed in the mezzanine and the first floor of the main building, as well as in the two floors of the pavilion of paintings.

  1. Recommendations for the protection of goods in case of seismic movements

The severe consequences of an earthquake for the structure of the museum and the conservation of its works are included in the parameters for the handling of an extreme emergency . Regarding these situations the Museum is aware of the limitations of its own possibilities and the necessity of close collaboration with external resources: firefighters, civil protection, other institutions, voluntary work, etc.

More commonare small to medium levelemergencies (rain infiltrations, outbreaks of biological activities, water leaks, vandalism, etc.). These situations are directly managed by the Museum according to the established procedures and the direct or indirect collaboration of human, technical and material resources.

As for the protocol of procedures in case of seismic movements in the Museum, the security guards have to act following the common guidelines. In any case, the concurrence of other dangerous agents deriving from the earthquake, such as broken water conducts or fire through shortcuts in the electrical installation, have to be avoided. The risk of a collapsing building has to be calculated and steps will be taken to avoid the ransacking of the Museum. Once the first emergency measurements are taken, the curator of the Museum and the department of Registration and Inventory will be contacted in order to elaborate an emergency plan for the works of art .This will include their recovering and, if necessary, relocation in accordance to the established methodology, priority and procedure.
