Focus on Families Campus Visit 2012

Dear Parent/Carer

As you are registered with the Focus on Families project, I am delighted to invite you to this year’s Campus Visit. This is an excellent opportunity to take a look round a university campus, hear student experiences, and find out more about how you can support your child to progress into higher education. This year’s Campus Visit will be held at:

GLASGOW CALEDONIAN UNIVERSITY, COWCADDENS ROAD, GLASGOW G4 0BA

Saturday 26 May 11am-2.30pm

This event is free of charge and I hope you and your family will be able to attend. Previous Campus Visits have provided a useful and enjoyable insight into higher education, and a free lunch will be provided. All are welcome to attend. If you would like to come please note that you MUST contact me on either 0141 331 8683 or email BY MONDAY 14TH MAYwith the following information:

  • Your name, and how many people from your family are attending
  • Your child’s name and school
  • Your contact telephone number
  • Please let us know of any special requirements (ie allergies, access assistance, etc)

Please note the following important points:

  • You must contact us by MONDAY 14THMAY if you want to attend, as we need to know numbers for catering.
  • Due to limited funding we cannot provide transport for everyone this year. However, if your family would not be able to come because of the cost of transport please contact me and I will arrange transport.
  • All young people must be accompanied by a parent/carer. Other family members are welcome too, such as grandparents or other relatives. Any young person under the age of 16 MUST be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. All young people of any age remain the responsibility of parents/carers at all times.
  • If you let us know you are coming, and then change your mind, please let us know.

GLASGOW CALEDONIAN UNIVERSITY IS ON COWCADDENS ROAD, ACROSS THE ROAD FROM BUCHANAN BUS STATION. IT IS A 7 MINUTE WALK FROM BOTH BUCHANAN STREET UNDERGROUND STATION AND QUEEN STREET RAILWAY STATION. IT IS A 2 MINUTE DRIVE FROM JUNCTION 16 OF THE M8 MOTORWAY.

IF YOU ARE DRIVING, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO PARK IN THE CAMPUS BY ENTERING THE GATE MARKED “A” IN THE PICTURE ABOVE. PARKING IS ALSO AVAILABLE AT THE NCP PAY AND DISPLAY CAR PARK ON COWCADDENS ROAD.
