Flood Recovery Debrief 2016

Cumbria’s communities and voluntary organisations have played – and continue to play - a huge and very valuable role in the recovery from the flooding in December 2015.

This questionnaireaims to collect some information on the work that has been undertaken, which will be used for a number of purposes:

  • It will inform the formal debrief process, and help Cumbria’s Local Resilience Forum understand what went well and what didn’t work wellduring the recovery from the December 2015 floods. This debrief process will identifychanges that should be made to Cumbria’s plans for future emergencies.
  • Stories and data will be used to explain the ways local communities and voluntary organisations were involved in the response to the floods, and the scale of the support that they offered to people who had been flooded.
  • Information on the impacts of the floods, and any needs that are still not being fully met, will help to plan the ongoing flood recovery support.

The survey is being undertaken by the Community Recovery Group that forms part of Cumbria’s Flood Recovery structures. There are a number of organisations working together through this group, and we will be sharing your responses with the relevant people in these organisations. These organisations include Cumbria County Council, Cumbria CVS, Cumbria Community Foundation and the team coordinating the Local Resilience Forum’s debrief. If there is any information that you do not want to be shared in this way, please make this clear in your response.

The questionnaire is split into a number of sections, and not all sections or questions may be relevant to your organisation. You don’t need to answer all the questions – just complete those that seem most appropriate, and give us as much or as little information as you want to. If you have other information (leaflets, reports, photographs, etc) that you think would be useful, you can also send us those.

Completed questionnaires should be returned by email to:
