The Application Process

Discuss your proposals with your local Borough Relationship Manager (BRM)

If the BRM feels that there is a need for the services you are offering, they will then invite you to make a bid.

You then need to request an application form from the FSGF team in the North London District Office

You will then be sent an application form, with guidance notes.

You complete the form and return it to the FSGF team.

A panel will assess your bid during the 1st week following the month the bid was submitted.

Once a decision has been made, you will be notified in writing

Unsuccessful Successful

You will receive a letter with feedback You will receive a provisional

on why your bid was unsuccessful offer letter, outlining any

additional information that is

required.

After we have obtained all the required

information, your bid will then be

submitted for financial approval.

Once you bid has received the full approval, a final offer letter will be sent to you, outlining the terms and conditions of the grant and this will include the minimum requirements you will have to achieve to receive payment and the payment schedule attached to the programme.

Once you have returned the signed offer letter and everything has been finalised, a member of the FSGF team will then support you in launching the programme and will send you all the paperwork required to manager the FSGF programme.

What we are looking for in a bid

North London District welcomes applications from Partners who can:

  • Support the Department’s objectives of improving and achieving employment outcomes for individuals or communities within our geographical boundaries who are not participating in The Work Programme.
  • Deliver specialised support for all JSA Customers, disadvantaged customer groups i.e. Ex – offenders, Persons with a disability, Homeless etc and provide increased employment opportunities for these groups.
  • Cover at least one of the seven boroughs within the North London District ( Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Islington, Haringey, Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea )
  • Supplement existing, or new partnership activities that support DWP’s objectives.
  • Achieve greater effect and better value for money (where appropriate), by aligning or pooling money with other funding from local partners to achieve common purposes which have identifiable employment gains in line with DWP’s objectives.
  • Focusing support on our most deprived Local Authority Wards and communities where the out of work benefit rates are significantly higher than average
  • Providing innovative solutions to support those who are associated with Gang related activity
  • Helping deliver the departments aim of reducing unemployment through work with a particular focus on Lone Parents
  • Providing innovative solutions to reduce youth unemployment focusing on 18-24 year olds and those neither in education, employment or training

Important information when considering making a bid

  1. Is your organisation, a ‘not for profit’ organisation?

Only companies deemed as ‘not for profit’ i.e. charity, are allowed to apply for FSGF.

  1. Is your bid unique?

FSGF is only available for provision that is deemed as unique and could

not be duplicated by another organisation, or is not currently available.

  1. Are you able to provide 2 years accounts.

The ability to provide 2 years accounts is a requirement of grant funding.

  1. Has your organisation registered with the national data registration for sharing information?

  1. Are you aware of partner organisations that can support your application?

Evidence of partnerships helps with the viability of the bid.

  1. Do you understand state aide and how much your organisation has benefited from state aide?

Current state aide limits are 200,000 euros over the last three years.

  1. Do you have the ability to obtain “match funding”?

The ability to obtain match funding improves the viability of your bid.
