Fleming Gardens is a voluntary sector supported housing project which aims is to give young women a chance to have their own tenancy along with the extra support they need to live independently with their child/ren. Our outreach service supports young mums who are either currently looking for their own tenancy or are already in their own tenancy and need support to maintain it.

FLEMING GARDENS’

BIRTHDAY

Fleming Gardens recently celebrated its 5th birthday. Fleming Gardens core project opened in 2004 and initially supported 10 young women and their children within the newly built cul de sac.

In August 2006 Fleming Gardens was given additional funding to support a further 10 young women within a floating support service. This enabled Fleming gardens to employ a third full time project worker.

During this time Fleming Gardens has been purchasing houses within the community for residents to move on to, thus ensuring that residents are provided with a continuity of support.

During the last 5 years Fleming Gardens has supported 109 young women and 119 children.

TWO MORE DISPERSED PROPERTIES

We have now purchased a further 2 dispersed properties, bringing the total to 7. The properties are once again within close proximity to Fleming Gardens, giving our young women more independence whilst enabling them to continue to access the support that is available from the core building.

The properties are two bedroomed and are fully furnished and decorated to a high standard.

Fleming Gardens is hoping to continue to purchase more properties in the near future.

SUCCESS STORY!

Fleming Gardens is very proud to announce that through the hard work and dedication of our young women and staff team, we achieved 84% positive move on’s during quarter four.

WAITING LIST

Due to high turnover with many of our young women securing their own tenancy, our current waiting list has reduced.

New referrals are welcome. Please request a referral from on the email address below.
