Flagshipping

Flagshipping is a way of enhancing your presence at a convention or trade show. Both new prospects as well as current clients who visit your booth can help advertise the Treasure Tower on the convention floor and help attract more traffic to your booth. Consider using some of the following flagshipping suggestions mentioned below. You may want to offer them a free roll or two of tokens (if they currently have a Treasure Tower or will be getting one) to compensate them for their help. (Note: The graphic design for these items was done by Jenni Boss at .

Metal Buttons

Round metal buttons that pin or clip to a client’s clothing or bag can be mailed to them prior to a convention in their area. Include a letter asking them if they would please wear the button for you during the convention. To avoid mailing costs, you can have the buttons with you at a convention and when an existing client stops by your booth, you can ask them if they would be willing to help you by wearing the button. When colleagues see the button hopefully they’ll ask, “What’s the Treasure Tower?” and they can be directed to your booth. or contact .

Labels

This is similar to the button idea but less expensive on your part. Rather than offering a button, you ask new prospects and current clients who come to your booth if they would please wear a label on their clothing or bag for others to easily see. Again, this will help peak the interest of other attendees who see the labels to inquire about Treasure Tower and visit your booth. Unlike the buttons, these labels will have the actual booth number for that convention on them.

Rather than giving free tokens, you might offer a small gift certificate drawing to anyone that agrees to flagship the Treasure Tower during the show. They can put in a business card or fill out a small slip of paper with their name and phone number on it and place it in a jar. Everyone loves give-a-ways so be sure to have a sign posted on the jar telling what it is you are giving away. Draw a winner at the end of the show and mail them the gift certificate.

Bags

Bags can be ordered to display similar graphics as shown above for buttons or labels. Attendees collect a lot of literature at a convention and are always looking for bags they can put everything in. Unlike the labels which quickly get discarded, a bag will likely travel home with the attendee and act as a future reminder of the Treasure Tower. We recommend including the web site on the bags. Also, consider creating a “Visit Booth #____” label to stick on the bags so any extras leftover at the end of the convention can be used at future shows.
