Hamilton - sell bonds to pay off old Revolutionary War debt, create a Bank of the United States to hold tax money and also print money, Northerners - happy because they owed more as states than South, rest of nation going to help them pay! Southerners mad - almost had own debt paid off! Now had to pay off Northern debt. Compromised and agreed to move the U. S. capital to the South in 3 years (will be in Philadelphia in meantime).

13. Battle of Tippecanoe. Must list Tecumseh and Gov. William Henry Harrison at least. Explain who they were and why important. Explain that white settlers encroached on Indian lands in Ohio & Indiana, Tecumseh roused Indians to fight back & regain their lands. Explain major groups as Indians, British, and the United States. Outcomes - Indians sell their land too cheaply and move off them. British forced to restore U. S. shipping rights.

14. Zebulon Pike. Describe Pike’s explorations, his capture by the Spanish, and how his notes were lost so he didn’t become famous like Lewis & Clark. Could add extra information about his venture into the blizzard in Colorado, the frostbite 9 of his men suffered, and how he was shot during the War of 1812 and died.
