Firm Overview:

Altamont Capital Partners (“ACP”) is a leading private equity firm based in Palo Alto, California. We focus on investing in change-intensive, middle-market private companies. The firm currently manages a fund of over $1B for a small group of the world’s most sophisticated private equity fund investors.

ACP’s investment strategy seeks out complex business situations, using rigorous analytics to uncover hidden value and then actively capitalizes on the opportunity as partners with management.

Our leadership team has an extensive track record of success, having previously worked together at Golden Gate Capital and Bain & Company.

Analyst Program Overview:

The firm is currently seeking candidates for our analyst program starting in 2015. The ACP analyst program provides an accelerated private equity career path for highly qualified undergraduate students who strongly believe they want to pursue a career in investing.

The program is designed to be three years in length and includes extensive training and experience in the skills required to be a successful private equity investor. This training combines tools and concepts drawn from strategy consulting, corporate finance and PE investing.

The program begins with a dedicated training program to develop the foundational analytical skills. Upon completion, analysts will work as a member of deal teams evaluating and executing new investments, as well as supporting existing portfolio companies. Finally, to provide valuable experience and insight into what it’s like to work in a company undergoing change, analysts are given a temporary dedicated assignment to actively support an Altamont portfolio company management team in a consulting or operating role.

Overall, the firm’s professional development program is designed to prepare analysts to become an associate at the firm. Those promoted to associate will be at the firm for a full three years, at which point they can go on to graduate school, or by mutual agreement continue their career at ACP. The firm will also sponsor select candidates to go to business school and return to ACP.
