Dear Mr McCormish,
I signed up with your RMS back in October after a very persuasive salesman, Tony Starling came cold calling. I thought he worked hard for my business so was happy to sign up with him and he promised great rates as compared to Barclaycard.
Mr Starling promised me a mobile terminal and I spent the whole of November chasing that, through Mr Starling and I believe through your customer service team. I had very slow connections on the static terminal, that I had not had with my previous Barclaycard terminal and Tony said that the remote terminal would resolve that problem. I did try hard to wait for the terminal but said I really needed it through December my busy time of the year.
At no time did anyone ring me and tell me that the forms you had sent me via email had bounced back. (I get 40 emails a day and would have noticed at any time if I was not receiving emails), your customer service department just told metodaythey sent them hard copy, again I am the only one in the shop and bin nothing. I get jewellery and packages that never go missing, again no one called me to say they had not received forms back, despite my numerous attempts at calling customer services. Again I was unaware that missing forms were the sticking block. Mr Starling agreed with me and said he would copy his boss Paul Gibbs.
I really did try and maintain business with your company, as changing is a complete hassle, but your company’s lack of response left me no choice.
I have just had a call with Matt in your Customer Services Department who did nothing but aggrieve me further, instead of calming the situation down, he told me the Salesman had inferred Mr Starling had done incorrect paperwork and I would pay the price, I said but he was your representative, even so Matt seemed more than happy to take a wronged customer to small claims court. I can’t believe this is how you operate your business when a customer in good faith has tried and tried to stay loyal to your company and when I got no response they had no recourse but to move their business elsewhere.
Matt only contacted me today after I again tried calling your customer service team as I sent closing emails over a month ago (see attached).

I would like to terminate my contract.
I hereby give one months notice. I dispute that I should pay the £100.00 cancellation fee as retail merchant services has not fulfilled it’s promises to me.
I was categorically told on numerous occasions that I would be sent a mobile unit from beginning November right thru to mid December, I gave up calling when it was obvious that I was wasting my time.
In such an economic climate, as a small business I rely a great deal on trust and in this instance my trust has been misplaced in believing your company would do as per our agreement.
I am a great social media advocate and have over 3500 followers on twitter. I never use twitter to vent frustrations at companies, but you have lost my recommending you on to anyone else. I was looking on forums last night and questions had arisen from a farming community, that your company had been approaching, if anyone had knowledge of your company, I was unable to comment as I couldn’t impart anything good.
