General Guidelines
- Please type the activity plan and you need to turn it in to me at the end of class.
- For your presentation bring the materials you will need for the activity.
- During the presentation please tell your classmates the title of the activity, learning goals, and demonstrate the activity (steps of the activity).
- The presentation should be 5-7 minutes long.
Tips for Activity Plan
- Focus on the curriculum area. For example, (please do not do the following) the curriculum area is language and literacy but your focus is an art activity.
- Learning outcome should focus on the curriculum area. Your objective should be related to the area of curriculum.
- Also, learning goals should be in complete sentences. Remember you know your activity but your classmates and I do not.
- Procedures also need to be in complete sentences and be explained in detail so your classmates can do the same process when they implement the activity.
- Provisions for Individual and Cultural Differencesneed to include individualization for English language learners and for those children who need that extra help.
- Follow up activities need to be included. Please include two.
- Most important please proofread your activity plan.
- Activity plan needs to be typed. If activity plan is not typed I will not accept the activity plan…I will return it to you. Please keep in mind that your classmates are taking the time to type it for you please do the same for them.
- Please use the activity plan format provided so it is easier to follow.
- Also, please take the time to write your activity plan to demonstrate your knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Last recommendation is to take the activity you have in mind and make it your own. I know there are different activities online but you need to make it your own and create something new. The online idea or book idea should be the start of your planning and branch out from there.
