Employment/Employee Relations Specialist, BGSU
Leslie Fern is an Employee Relations Specialist at Bowling Green State University. Her primary duties are employee relations and administering Family and Medical Leave Act issues for the University. Prior to coming to BGSU, Fern was the Manager of Employment/Recruitment at Owens Community College and worked as an employee relations specialist for SE Johnson, a heavy highway construction firm. Fern earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a master’s degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Toledo. Fern is very involved in the community with her primary passion in the area of advocacy and educating the community on issues surrounding disability awareness. She has served as the Board Chair for Joni and Friends (JAF), Ohio a disability ministry of Joni Eareckson Tada and has served as a volunteer at JAF Family Retreats for families affected by disabilities. Fern also started Breathe Disability Ministries at Westgate Chapel in Toledo, OH.
