Finance Analyst, 1-3 months contract

Informa Professional, part of the international Informa Group, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join their commercial finance team in a 1-3 month contract. This is your opportunity to join a leading market intelligence brand, assisting the Informa ProfessionalFinance Director and providing crucial support to the senior management team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the financial reporting, forecasting and budgetingprocess for the division, providing commercial advice to divisional managers and producing financial analysis that will support business strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of financial reporting for the division, supporting them to achieve their financial targets and objectives. Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, you will review all month end management accounts, assessing performance based on Key Performance Indicators, and producing profit and loss variance analysis. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders to produce forecasts and annual budgets for presentation to the wider business.

Key responsibilities:

-Review of month end management accounts, and produce monthly reporting packs for senior management

-Produce profit and loss variance analysis and ensure that findings versus actual are communicated to internal stakeholders

-Contribute to the production of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, and monitoring of actual performance

-Produce ad hoc analysis as required by senior management and the Finance Director

-Provide financial support to the division on a daily basis, ensuring that the financial performance of the division is communicated to managers and the wider business

Key requirements:

  • A minimum 2:1 in a Finance or Accounting discipline.
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified with some experience of working in a commercial environment.
  • Experience of working in the publishing sector preferred but not essential.
  • Computer skills - computerised accounting package experience including proficient Word and advanced Excel user. SAP experience preferred but not essential.
  • Must communicate clearly and succinctly.
  • Managing internal relationships with senior members of the business unit management team.
