Film Review: The Patriot

Assignment

Write a review of the film The Patriot. The review of the film must address the questions in the outline. Use the information collected in the viewing chart to address the questions. The review must be organized similar to an essay with an introduction, body, and conclusion.

  • Write a brief summary of the plot (two or three sentences).
  • State your assessment/evaluation of the historical accuracy of the film (thesis sentence).

  • Explain how Benjamin Martin’s character effectively represents the historical figure he was based upon – Daniel Morgan. Provide both effective and not effective examples.
  • Explain how William Tavington’s character effectively represents the historical figure he was based upon – Banastre Tarleton. Provide both effective and not effective examples.
