Field Trip Information

May 26, 2016

GT students will be taking a field trip to iFly Indoor Skydiving on Thursday, May 26th. We will leave SMS at 7:45 AM and will return at approximately 2:30 PM.

Theeducation program at iFLY uses iFLY’s unique vertical wind tunnel facility to make STEM exciting, relevant, and accessible to all students. The curriculum has been designed by STEM educators and scientists to support STEM learning.

The trip will include the following:

~1 hr. STEM lecture

~Flight Training

~Flight Session

~Time for a sack lunch

Cost:

The cost of the field trip will be $35.00 per student/parent chaperone. This will cover the cost of admission. Students who do not fly will need to pay$22.00. Parents who do not fly will not be charged. Parents will be responsible for their own transportation.

Flying:

Everyone should wear comfortable clothing,tie-on shoes are requiredand long hair must be tied back.In the flight chamber, everyone wears a one-piece coverall flight suit, helmet, goggles and earplugs. We ask that students bring as little with them as possible. They will need to remove all jewelry, sunglasses, hats, scarves, and everything from their pockets for the flight chamber. Big backpacks are not necessary, although a small bag to store their phone, personal items and lunch would be useful. Storage space at iFLY is limited, so backpacks and other unnecessary items should be left behind or if necessary, stored in your vehicles

Waivers:

Every child and adult, whether flying or not, must complete the iFLY Dallas waiver form online prior to the day they visit. Parents or guardians must fill in their own name and birth date and attach the child as a minor.Anyone without a completed waiver form will NOT be allowed to fly.
