FIDDLER’S GREEN ‘SILVER’ SHOW RULES& REGULATIONS

  1. The Fiddler’s Green competition is sanctioned as a Silver/Bronze competition member of Equine Canada, 308 Legget Dr., Suite 100, OttawaK2K 1Y6, and is governed by the rules of EC. (A602.1) Any horse entered in any class at a competition may be selected for equine medication control testing while at the event location. (A602.5)

Per Article A801, every entry at an EC-sanctioned competition shall constitute an agreement by the person responsible that the owner, lessee, trainer, manager, agent, coach, driver or rider and horse shall be subject to the EC Constitution and all rules of EC and any additional rules set by the competition. It is the responsibility of all individuals participating in any capacity in EC-sanctioned competitions to be knowledgeable regarding the EC Constitution and the applicable rules of EC and the additional rules, if any, imposed by the competition. Do not participate in this EC-sanctioned competition in any capacity if you do not consent to be bound by the constitution and rules of EC and any additional rules imposed by the competition. (A602.7)

2. All Canadian entries are required to hold both an EC Passport and a valid EC horse license to compete, or if owned by a temporary sport license holder, a Temporary Horse Registration Form must be purchased at each competition entered. Foreign entries must sign an affidavit. (A602.4)

Passports are required for core divisions, including equitation classes, except Hack Division. 2016 Equine Canada “Silver” Competitive Sport License, OEF and THJA membership cards are required for all riders (including thoseunder 10 years of age) and owners. If you or the owner of the horse/pony do not have an EC Sport License you will be required to purchase a temporary’Silver’ membership at the show. Your points will not count for this show with a temporary EC Sport License. Adult Amateur riders must have Amateur Status on their Equine Canada membership card. These will be checked.

3.Hors Concours: Not permitted.

4. RiderFalls: Remounting not allowed.

5.Show Committee: Pamela Nuth and Rebecca Nuth.

6. Program Changes: Every class offered herein is covered by the Rules and Specifications of the current rules of EC and will be held and judged in accordance with the EC Rule Book (A602.2). Fiddler’s Green Stables reserves the right to make changes to classes, change the order of classes, to cancel , reschedule, or combine any division they may deem advisable.

Competitors on the EC Not In Good Standing List will be refused entries to the show.

7.Helmets: Anyone mounted on a horse on the competition grounds, including foreign competitors, must wear approved helmets, with safety harness correctly fastened, at all times.

8.Abuse– Abuse of the horse is strictly forbidden. Excessive use of the whip – a horse should never be hit more than three times for any one incident. EC rule.

9.NSF cheques will be assessed a $50 surcharge. Cancelled entries, prior to the commencement of the show and any refunds will be assessed a $25 plus administration fee and HST. No shows $50 plus admin and HST. If you withdraw your horse from competition once the show has commenced there will be no refund of entry fees.

10. Post entries- add $30, no exceptions. All entries received by the secretary following the closing date will be deemed a post entry. If you substitute one horse for another there will be no additional cost. ALL ENTRY FEES STATED DO NOT INCLUDE HST.

11.All prize monies will be applied to your entry fees prior to checkout.

12.All competition numbers must be worn and be visible at all times during the competition.

13. Entries -All trainers/coaches must carry the memberships and sports license equivalent to the level of competition where they are training/coaching.

14. A horse/pony is limited to one round per class including equitation and medal classes.

15. Only silver-coloured stirrups are permitted in equitation or medal classes. Use of black or coloured stirrups will incur elimination.

16Draw Reins – not permissible in Hunter and Jumper Classes. (A602.5)

17. Smoking – There will be no smoking allowed on the property.

18.Food and Refreshments- available on the grounds.

19.Dogs: Please refrain from bringing dogs. If a must, please keep on leash. There will be a fine for loose dogs.

NEW 2016 – Only silver/grey or silver/grey safety stirrups with elastics of any colour are permitted.

NEW FOR 2016 - 1.0m Jumper Division – Open to all horses, and to ponies who are ridden by Juniors. Adults are not permitted to ride ponies in this division. Maximum height of fences 1 meter. (This is a new division whichcombined the 1m Junior/Amateur and the 1m Training Jumper Divisions).

Lo/High Hunter Development division – 2’6”/2’9” – This division is open to all horses. No ponies permitted. Horse and rider combinations may only cross enter to the 2’6” Children’s or 2’6” Amateur Hunter Divisions, the Hack Division and their age appropriate equitation on the flat. Competitors may move both up and down in heights between shows, but competitors may not change heights once the division has started.

2’6” Children’s/Adult Amateur Hunter – No ponies are permitted. Open to Junior and Adult Amateur riders riding horses. Riders are not eligible to compete in any division with a height over 2’6”, except for the Lo/High Hunter Development Division. Horse and rider combinations are

permitted to also show in the Hack Division and age appropriate equitation on the flat. Will be separated at the Championship show.

**PLEASE NOTE: As our 2’6” Children’s/Amateur Hunter is combined remember a junior may not show a horse to collect points for an adult to compete at the Championship show.
