Since 1996, the International Committee on Audiovisual, New Media Technologies and Social Media AVICOMof the International Council of Museums ICOM organizes an International Festival of Audiovisual Media for Cultural Heritage every year.
The aim of this globally acclaimed festival is the evaluation and promotion of audiovisual productions (films ...) as well as innovative multimedia creations (websites, interactive programs, apps, creative installations in exhibitions, media for people with special
needs ...), by and for museums or others Institutions of Cultural Heritage.
With the renaming of FIAMP (Festival International de l 'Audiovisuel et du Multimédia sur le Patrimoine) in f@imp 2.0 (Festival of Audiovisual International Multimedia Patrimony), the festival has undergone a programmatic enlargement: Digital media production and use are expected to be stronger than before of the WorldWideWeb for the conveyance of cultural heritage. In addition, the festival will run online on the website faimpavicom.org - with an upload option for applicants: You can directly load your media contributions into the category applicable to the medium. After being activated by AVICOM, the media are present worldwide!
Who can submit a media contribution?
Submit a media contribution to any ICOM personal or institutional member. After receiving the participation fee of 50 Euro per medium, the online platform can be used for the registration and for the upload of the medium.
Deadline for registration and upload is April 30, 2018, 24 h.
The Prize Giving Ceremony will take place on 31 May 2018 in the LVR Open-Air Museum Kommern.
Who can participate in the festival?
Even if you do not submit a media contribution: Not only ICOM members, but all creators, museum colleagues, media producers and those interested in culture are cordially invited to take part in the festival.
The participation fees include lunch, cocktails at the award ceremony, evening reception and accompanying drinks:
Representatives of the submitted media: no additional fee
ICOM members: Cat. 150 EUR
Cat. 2 40 EUR
Cat. 3 30 EUR
Cat. 4 20 EUR
Other: 70 EUR
Students: 45 EUR
The festival starts already at approx. 9.30 am. Arrivals are recommended the day before for overnight guests. When reserving accommodation, the LVR Open-Air Museum Kommern is happy to assist. An early booking is essential, as there are only a limited number of accommodations in the immediate vicinity of the museum.
The Awards:
Gold, Silver and Bronze for the best productions in the following categories:
- Museum films: short films, longer films
- Websites and special programs on the Web
- Applications (for I-Phone, Tablet, Augmented Reality)
- Innovative multimedia programs
- Creative and interpretive media installations in exhibitions
- Other applications: virtual tours, 3D apps ...)
Great AVICOM prize "Claude-Nicole Hocquard" for the best production of all categories
