Fenburr Scholarship for Women and Underrepresented Groups

This scholarship was established with funds from the Herbert (B.Ch.E. 1934, M.S. 1935, Ph.D. 1937) and Dorothy Joseph Fenburr Scholarship Endowment Fund for Geography, which was established in 2002 with gifts from Dorothy Joseph Fenburr (B.A. 1935). The funds are to be used to support undergraduate students, with a special focus on professional development.

Scholarship amount: Up to three $800 Awards

Eligibility:

  1. Major in Geography, Atmospheric Sciences, or Geographic Information Science
  2. Status as a woman and/or member of an underrepresented group

Criteria for evaluation: Academic record and statement of professional goals and activities

Sharpe Scholarship for Outstanding Undergraduates

This scholarship was established with funds from the Gary L. Sharpe Scholarship Fund in Geography, which was established in 2010. This scholarship provides funds for undergraduate students in the Department of Geography with preference given to students from the state of Ohio who demonstrate financial need. Students who receive this award are chosen based on their excellence in the classroom and their professional goals and achievement.

Scholarship amount: Up to six $800 Awards

Eligibility:

  1. Major in Geography, Atmospheric Sciences, or Geographic Information Science
  2. Students from the state of Ohio (i.e. Ohio hometown)
  3. Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

Criteria for evaluation: Academic record and statement of professional goals and activities

You can email your application as an attachment to Brooke Raake or drop off a paper copy in 1036 Derby Hall.
