Definition and Primary Objective:

The Villedge Coach(VC) works collaboratively with the Villedge Coordinator, Villedge enrichment partners and volunteers to change the way hard-to-reach teens in Cincinnati are supported. The Villedge surrounds teens with support, community and provides them with information, opportunity, and empowerment. They do this through programming that provides support while teen’s holistically develop their mind, body, and spirit. The VC works collaboratively with the teen, key stakeholders in teen’s environment, and with Villedge’s enrichment partners during enrichment programing. Outside of enrichment programing, coaches oversee the implementation and ongoing updates of teen’s life plans based on their interactions and work. Coach’s must build strong relationships with each key stakeholder and their Villedge Coordinator so they can effectively support and understand each individual teen. This also includes receiving ongoing feedback from stakeholder and the Villedge coordinator and ensuring identified social skills are being learned and teen’s are progressing towards goals. Each coach will have a pack or team of 3-6 young men in which they work.

Additionally, The VC supports enrichment providers in enrichment program and with and key stakeholderswith their implementation of the teen’s life plan and identified social skills in their environment. This support will vary and is individualized based on each teen’s current needs and support can include training, skills coaching, and recommendations of interventions to any key stakeholder or enrichment partners. The coach meets one on one with each teen, frequency recommended by the life plan, to review progress, practice skills, and to celebrate skill success. This can happen in and outside of programing. Coaches work with the Villedge coordinator to best support each team and attend teen’s educational or team meetings and may also be asked to provide crisis support to teens. The VCis an expert in relationship building, collaboration, advocacy, teaching, and in motivating teen’s to achieve their goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Direct Client Service
●Supports teens’ in enrichment environment and oversees daily character points to track progress with goals.
●Meets one one one with teens to review, update, and work on the implementation and progression of their life plans
●Provides teen with daily and detailed weekly feedback of their skill use and reports for other.
●Supports the development and ongoing updates of teen’slife plan and social skills identification.
●Functions as a positive role model at all times to promote age appropriate social skills, self-care, problem solving, modulation of mood, and maintaining appropriate body boundaries. Maintain a safe environment and appropriateboundaries that is age appropriate for students.
●Provides direct support to key stakeholders; could be teachers, enrichment providers, parents, group homes. Goal isto model or build capacity for stakeholder to implement intervention to improve teen’s skill use.
●Communicates pertinent behavioral information and data in the ongoing updates of life plan with teen
●Demonstrates proficiency in identifying skill absences and replacementbehaviors and can use skill based teachings
●Fully integrates, implements, and promotes the use of the Villege Model and builds capacity of others to implement/support as well.

Internal and External Collaboration
●Actively participates in team meetings, ensures student focused meetings, and attends staff/program meetings as scheduled.

●Acts as agency ambassador for Villedge and brings awareness to the mission and build partnership potential with community

●Identifies and recommends process improvements to leadership
●Collaborates with key stakeholders; school administrators, therapist, teachers, parents, and other identified so that a collaborative approach to support is maintained
●Collaborates with Behavior Manager in the development of the Life plans
●Represents the agency within the community and with clients with professionals at all times, maintains a strong customer service and public relations perspective.
●Serves on agency committees as assigned.
●Networks with other professionals in efforts to share best practices and develop professional skills and relationships.
●Actively collaborates with other service programs across the city to ensure student needs are being met and to benchmark and share resources as assigned. / 35%
Administration
●Completes all assigned paperwork such as but not limited to conducting assessment, updating life plans, reviewing developmental assets, facilities feedback loop, writes collaborative reviews with feedback from all stakeholders and shares with team.
●Completes training logs, brief feedback documentation when coaching partners.

Quality Assurance and Effectiveness
●Participates in individual teen’s meetings and assists in adjusting life plans and enrichment activities programing as needed for maximum progress.
●Uses student assessment data and other student resources to support individualized life plans.
●Professionally accepts and utilizes conceptual feedback for professional development.

Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:

This position requires individuals with a strong desire to work with hard to reach teen’s and be an influencer in their life. We are looking for coaches with past experience being a hard-to-reach teen themselves and have overcome challenges. Past experience working with at-risk teens a plus. Valid driver's license required. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work with teen’s, families and key stakeholders, willing to individualize approach for each teen, and learn/follow the Villedge model. Position requires coach to adjust schedule of support on a week by week basis in order to meet the identified need. Must be organized and have good time management skills. Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment:

Exposed to a combination of office, school and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive. May be exposed to blood or vomit and bodily fluids.
