Fox Creek Covenants Update
A committee of six people reviewed the Fox Creek covenants recently. Attorney William Bartine is updating the covenants and preparing to
request the updated covenants to be filed with the county. The Covenants have to
be filed with the county every twenty years. Before filing with the
county, the FCOA Board is requesting all homeowners in Fox Creek to vote on changes that will be made. The vote will take place in November during the annual meeting and we will send changes to all homeowners to peruse prior to the annual meeting.
One important reminder to all Fox Creek homeowners is to review the covenants and provide upkeep to your dwelling. There are several homes for sale in the neighborhood and many visitors for which we should provide a positive first impression. Thank you!
Recycling in Fox Creek
FCOA Board members have recently worked with Waste Connections to set up a contract for recycling in Fox Creek . As Waste Connections could set up a contract for both trash removal and recycling, the neighborhood would need to vote. Waste Connections will be dropping off our recycling totes on July 29th and pick up recycling on Fridays. As there will be a cost to set up the recycling, the board has agreed to pay for the neighborhood recycling until the end of the 2009 year in order for homeowners to get a feel of recycling. Please give us your input on having recycling available to Fox Creek through the Fox Creek web page. You can go to the link “Contact the Board” under the Board Meeting Minutes link. The address for the feedback email is .
Mark your Calendars!
The FCOA annual meeting will be on November 8 at the Fox Creek Church. It is important for all neighbors to attend so that voting on the newly updated covenants can take place. We will also have a potluck dinner right after the Fox Creek Owner’s Association annual meeting.
There has been a request to have another neighborhood bonfire again this year! Thanks to Mark and Janis Adams who hosted the bonfire last year, we will probably have the bonfire in October. We will notify all neighbors on the Fox Creek web page and look for a poster at the entrance of Fox Creek. Hope that you can make it to both events!
One Man’s Junk is Another One’s Treasure!
Many years ago, we had a day that neighbors set out their items for Goodwill and then allowed other neighbors within Fox Creek to go through and take items they could use. After a particular period of time, Goodwill came through with a large truck and picked up the extra items that were left. We are interested in setting up another day like this but would like to know if there would be enough interest in doing this. If you would have items to set out for Goodwill and other neighbors to inspect, please let Colleen Tendall know at 987-1985 or by email at as soon as possible. There are a lot of college students within the neighborhood so it would be nice to have a possible swap day before August 15 so the students can look through items they may need. We are not going to organize this special day unless there is enough interest! Thank you for your response.

New Fox Creek Neighbors
There is one new family in Fox Creek since the Fox Creek annual meeting. The family is living at 33080 Fox Creek Drive (previous home of
Abrahamsons.) Please welcome Matt and Sarah Mulvaney to the neighborhood!
Safety First!
Please remember that walkers and bikers always have the right away on our roads! Also, the speed limit is 25 mph in Fox Creek and the stop signs have been placed in areas of Fox Creek for a reason! As a Fox Creek homeowner, it is your responsibility to remind your visiting guests and workers to your home to follow the speed limit and stop signs as well!
Water Board Update!
The Fox Creek Water Board would like to let homeowners know that recently, there were two areas of asphalt in Fox Creek that had to be replaced after water line repair and construction. Also, the Fox Creek Water District tower, located in NAPA Valley is going to be cleaned from calcium and lime deposit buildup.
Along with the replacement of asphalt, the cracks in Fox Creek were sealed recently by Speck! Thank you to the Water Board for setting up the repairs with Speck!
The annual FCOA dues are due in February. We have had some lost payments in the past when the dues are placed in a mailbox and would appreciate the dues being sent in the US mail or handed to a board member in person! Thank you!
Annexation Update
At this time, there is nothing new to share on annexation from West Des Moines. We will keep you informed as the FCOA learns new information.
