2019SCHOLARSHIP

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:

The Fayette County Farm Bureau supports area Farmers, Ranchers and others involved in Agricultural related businesses. The organization is strongly supportive of Texas youth, especially those with an interest in Agriculture. This commitment in youth is evident at the State level and local event.

The purpose of this Scholarship is to offer financial assistance to a qualified applicant of this school who will be entering an institution of higher education. The applicant should have a sound academic record, be of good character and demonstrate financial need. Leadership qualities, school activities and community involvement will be considered, preference may be given to applicants who are planning a course of study in agriculture or Agriculture-related fields.

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP:

There will be one (1) $1000.00 Scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To receive this scholarship as applicant must (1) be a graduate of said school (2)Have applied for admission in a recognized institution of higher learning (3)Maintain a grade point average above the level that would result in scholastic probation, and (4) have a parent/guardian or grandparent be a member of Fayette County Farm Bureau.

SELECTION COMMITTEE:

The selection committee will be composed of representatives of Fayette County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

An applicant will be given consideration for a scholarship when all of the following have been received by the scholarship committee.

(1) A completed application form

(2)A transcript for all academic work, including rand and number in class, grade point average and college admission test scores.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES:

The scholarship money will be awarded to the recipient upon presentation of a current registration receipt from the institutionto be attended or with notification of registration where a payment will be addressed directly to the institution of higher learning. This transaction will occur at the Fayette County Farm Bureau office located at 411 E. Colorado, PO Box 338, La Grange, TX 78945 on a semester basis.

Upon completion of each semester, a copy of the recipient’s grades shall be furnished to the Fayette County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

DEADLINE:

Application must be completed and received by the scholarship committee by April 19, 2019. Upon completion of the application form, an applicant will present it to his/her High School Principal prior to the deadline.
