Dear Parishioners,

Yes, I know it’s still more than two weeks away, but our next movie for movie night will be “Saving Grace” with Tom Conti, Edward James Olmos, and Fernando Rey. (Not to be confused with a later movie of the same name starring Brenda Blethyn). A year after his election the pope, in his gardening clothes, accidently gets locked out of the Vatican. He decides to visit a small village that is in need of a priest. What unfolds is funny, serious, and touching. The movie is a delight. Come join your fellow parishionerson December 1st at 7pm in the Parish Life Center. BYO whatever you’d like to eat, drink, or snack on. Bring your comfy lawn chair if you’d like.

Pro-Life News: Please save the date for the 2018 March for Life in Knoxville on Sunday, January 21 at 2pm. This year marks 45 years of legalized abortion in America. It is important that we let our community know that LIFE is important enough for us to take a stand. We will start with a brief prayer service at the World’s Fair Amphitheater followed by a short walk down Clinch Avenue towards the abortion facility at 16th and Clinch then walk back to the World’s Fair Park. The whole event usually takes about an hour and a half. This once-a-year event is where we literally STAND FOR LIFE. The march is very much a family friendly event.

Help! Help! Help! Sacristans are still needed for Saturdays in December! You can do this as a family if you like. It only takes 15 minutes before Mass and 15 minutes after Mass. You will be trained on your first weekend. Call Greg & Polly Freund at 865-375-7098 for more information. Preparing the altar for the Celebration of the Most Holy Eucharist is a priceless gift.

No CCD classes on Wednesday the Nov. 22nd or on Sunday Nov.26th in observance of Thanksgiving. Classes will resume on November 29th& Dec.3rd.

Wow 97 Shoeboxes:Thanks to your generosity of a simple shoebox, children who have endured poverty, famine, disease and war will receive a tangible expression of God’s Love. They will be given the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ. Please keep them all in your prayers.

“How marvelous it would be if, at the end of the day, each of us could say, today I have performed an act of charity towards others!”

(Pope Francis)

Thanksgiving

Time He has allowed us to share

Hours He has kept us in His care

Another day enjoying His creation

No greater feeling or sensation

Kisses He bestows on us every day

Suffering for us was His only way

Giving His grace to save you and me

Is God's gift to us for all eternity

Voices now raised in song and praise

Is our way of honoring Him for always

Nowin heaven there's no more strife

God gave us love with eternal life
