Farming Subdivision Project Part 2
This portion of the project has 2 parts.
- Write up the bacterial transformation lab
- Determine which crops your group will include in your farming subdivision.
Be sure that you discuss both parts as a group and have a good write up of both parts.
Part 1 – Bacterial transformation Lab
- Complete the following parts of the lab packet:
Pg. 38, 39, 40
Write at least 3 paragraphs with complete sentences that describe what you did in this lab, what the purpose was and what the results were.
- Farming Subdivision plan
- In your group, you need to use the information provided by the guest speaker, information from the ifolder and information from the internet to decide what kinds of crops you want to grow in your farming subdivision. Crops can be plants, animals or a combination of both. Take into consideration the following things:
- What you are using your pond for.
- Can you make money with this crop?
- Is the crop compatible with a residential area? (does it produce a lot of noise or odor)
- How much space the crop takes.
- After making the decisions required above, write up your plans for the crops. Be sure that your write-up is clear and addresses all of the considerations above as well as the limitations in the overall farming subdivision project. A well done write up will contain several paragraphs explaining your decisions.
Turn in:
- The lab packet with the questions answered.
- The written discussion of the lab – typed.
- The Farming plan – this must be typewritten and include at least 3 different sources for the information you used (can include the guest speaker, textbook, internet etc.)
- Notes the members took during the speaker’s presentation.
All team members must contribute to this project in order for it to be done well and on time. As a member of the group it is your responsibility to contribute as well as ensure the contribution of the others in the group.
