Q1:Is there any period allocation in K.G & P.G?
Ans.No. APSACS has spelled out Teaching Blocks for core subjects but has not given any Period Allocation for P.G & K.G.
Q2:Are 'video' and 'story telling' a part of Morning Meeting?
Ans.No. 'Video' and storytelling are to be taken in a separate slot.
Q3:Is the Planning of EPL & Sensorial Exercises to be penned down in the Planner?
Ans.Yes
Q4:Will every teacher plan lessons every week.
Ans.No. Every week the lesson developers will be different. So all teachers will not plan lessons every week.
Q5:Which is the recommended method for memorization of times table?
Ans.As multiplication is a commutative method so both ways can be adopted e.g. 2x1 = 2 and 1x2 = 2
depending on the learner's ease.
Q6:Is Evaluation of Teaching & learning to be written daily in Pre-school?
Ans.No. Evaluation is to be written weekly.
Q7:Is there a Tutorial Period in class Prep on Friday?
Ans.No. Prep class will have 6 regular teaching periods on Friday as before.
Q8:When will the zero periods be held?
Ans.Zero periods will only be held during check point weeks.
Q9:Can oral test be adjusted with the written test in the zero period?
Ans.Yes. Because if the written test of any subject is of 10 marks. 5 marks oral test can also be taken in that time slot.
Q10:.Will spot tests carry any weightage in the consolidated result? .
Ans: Spot tests are brief assessments to gauge students’Learning in the class. Marks will not be included in the checkpoint results.
Q11.What is meant by Assessment Plan in the lesson Plan?
Ans.Assessment Plan is the strategy that a teacher uses during her lesson to gauge the learning of the student for that particular lesson. she may plan a spot test, worksheet, quiz etc.
FAQs for Skill Development
Q1.Why are the skills written under the objectives in the objective column of the
Syllabus Breakup?
Ans.It is the Objectives/Learning Outcomesthat indicates the skills which are expected to be developed as a result of that lesson.
Q2.Are the skills to be shared with the students, if yes, when?
Ans.No not directly like we share the objectives, but the teacher has to draw the students attention to the
skill he is supposed to acquire whenever suitable time comes during the lesson.
Q3.Why is it necessary to write the skills in the lesson plan?
Ans.Writing the skill creates mental awareness in the teacher and she remains conscious offocusing on
it during the teaching process..
Q4.How do we identify the skills that are being developed?
Ans.When you study/analyze the objectives/learning outcomes, it leads to recognizing what skill is to be developed.
Q5.Can the teacher derive more skills other than the suggested ones?
Ans.Yes, the skills list acts only as a guide and facilitation for the teacher. The teacher may choose more skills keeping in mind the lesson objective/learning outcome..
Q6.Can more than one skill be developed in a particular lesson?
Ans.There are many sub skills that are not mentioned in the Syllabus Breakup. The teacher may focus on them too.
Q7.Why is identifying a skill important?
Ans.Formal teaching in school becomes meaningful to students if it is linked to everyday life. When students realize that that the skills taught/developed in the class are applicable to real life, they find the education meaningful and develop more interest.
Q8.How can a teacher become an expert in identifying lesson related skills?
Ans.It needs time and application to become an expert at anything. Some basic information is given in the Skill Development Document. However, teachers must do some research on skill development and develop critical thinking techniques to expand the concept.
Q9. How should a skill be assessed?
Ans. The acquired skills can be tested through spot tests, oral discussion, activities, project work etc.
FAQs for Lesson Planning
Q1:How is the new format different from the previous one?
Ans.Lesson Plan will be written on the new format (Loose sheets) which will be kept in the Teacher’s Planner.
Every teacher will not make Lesson Plans every week, however, every teacher will writelessons evaluation after teaching.
Following additions have been made in the new format:

Q2:What is meant by rotational planning?
Ans.If there is more than one teacher taking a subject of a certain class (4a, 4b, 4c…), every week one teacher will be assigned a responsibility to develop the lesson plan for her subject. This plan will be used by teachers of all the sections of that class. Every teacher will develop lesson on her/his turn.
Q3:Is every teacher supposed to strictly follow the plan made by the assigned teacher?
Ans.During the coordination meeting, it is recommended to give your input/ideas after having gone through the plan made by the assigned teacher. Even then if a teacher strongly feels to make necessary changes according to the class needs, she is allowed to make minor adjustments but that should be clearly mentioned in the evaluation of that particular lesson. Teachers are supposed to share their good practices (or shortfalls in syllabus completion) in the next coordination meeting.
Q4:Will the lesson plan be handwritten, or typed? What if the school does not have funds/ facility of photocopying?
Ans.Session 2014-2015 has been declared as the year of YES. All APSs are directed to effectively empower teachers throughCLIC. Teachers are expected to develop lesson plan on computers/laptops/tablets. However, if the desired computer literacy/equipment is lacking, hand- written Lesson Plans are permitted.
In cases where school does not have funds/facility for photocopying the teachers may copy the lesson plans manually.
Q5:If a teacher teaches a subject to more than one sections of a class, will he/she write personal evaluations for all classesor one evaluation is OK?
Ans.He/she will follow the same plan in every section but he/she will write evaluation for lesson of each section separately. If space is not sufficient the overleaf of the Lesson Plan be used or the school may provide more than one copy of the evaluation sections to the teacher.
Q6:Will the names of students who need extra assistance be mentioned in the Evaluation of each lesson?
Ans.Each lesson should be evaluated realistically. If a student faces difficulty in comprehending a concept and the teacher resolves the problem in the same class then her/his name will not be mentioned. However, if the problem persists for a unit/chapter/ a major concept, and it is not possible to resolve it during regular teaching class, then teacher will record thename and forward the list of such students to the Section Head so that proper remedial classes be held in Tutorial Period on Fridays
Q7:Is the teacher expected to carry the Teacher’s Planner all the time?
Ans.It is suggested to carry the daily lesson plan on a clip board for convenience and file it in the Teachers Planner (folder) after getting it checked by the Section Head on weekly basis. After a term/some months when the folder becomes heavy, the teacher will shift the record to an envelope to bekept in personal lockers.
Q8:Is it all right to carry your lesson plan on a clip board on the Evaluation Day?
Ans. It is perfectly all right to carry your lesson plans on a clip boards on the Evaluation day.
However, when any external team comes to inspect a school, it is expected that team would like to see evidences of work practice over a period of time and not just ONE days performance. It is advisable that if school has been informed of School Evaluation Visit, all teachers must have their complete Lesson Planners ready for inspection.
Q9:What is meant by Assessment Plan mentioned in the Lesson Plan?
Ans.Assessment Plan is the strategy that a teacher plans to use during her lesson to gauge the learning of students e.g. on spot test, a quick quiz, assessment during activity, independent/pair/group work etc.
Q10:Will embedded CP Tests be written/mentioned in the Assessment Plan in Daily Lesson Plan?
Ans.Yes she the embedded CP test will be mentioned in the Assessment Plan because regular teaching period is being utilized for this purpose.
Q11:Is there any built-in time for revision and embedded CP Tests in the block syllabus?
Ans.Yes, the number of periods allocated to each unit/chapter includes the time for revision and embedded CP Tests (for subjects mentioned in the revised Assessment Policy).
FAQs for Tutorial Period
Q1:Can the tutorial period be used to completion of class work of absentees?
Ans.Yes, it can be used but it should not be made a regular practice in the school.
Q2:Will the struggling learners ever get a chance to participate in co-curricular activities?
Ans.If the teacher correctly identifies the area of concern of struggling learner based on her/his assessment and executes her/his remedial plan effectively. Surely the graph of performance will improve in a definite period of time (3-4 weeks or even much earlier). Such children be given chance and encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities.
Q3:If the tutorial period and zero periods are to be taken by the class teacher, how will her/his workload be managed?
Ans.Timetabling has to be done smartly to ensure even distribution of work. For guideline refer to workload document.

Q1:How many days are allocated for Coordination Meeting in the beginning of the academic year.
Ans.Three days.

Ans.Subject Coordinator & Subject teacher will study the whole block syllabus for the term & chalk out the plan for the term of their subject. Subject Coordinator will schedule the rotational lesson plan.

Ans.Subject Coordinators – Subject Teachers.
Q11:What time is recommended for weekly Coordination Meeting?
Ans.After regular school in the extended time for teacher. Time will be decided subject wise.
