POSITION OBJECTIVE: To aid in the prevention of child abuse and neglect in at-risk families by providing appropriate modeling techniques, education and other supportive services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

·  Assist in developing and maintaining client records and program documentation to contract and CBC standards (initial assessments, goal planning, progress notes, termination summaries, etc.). Assist with client file maintenance.

·  Provide appropriate modeling techniques, education and other supportive services delineated in the case plan under the direction of the case manager. Provide documentation on observations during all client activities when interacting with the client or client family.

·  Assist Case Manager in case management services and monitor quality of care. Report any issues to the Case Manager. Monitor supervised visits.

·  Arrange for and/or provide for transportation of clients to visits, doctor appointments, counseling, court, etc. Run errands needed to support the Case Manager such as picking up police reports, school reports, medical records, etc.

·  Supervise children in absence of case manager or caregiver in accordance with agency procedures.

·  Participate in weekly staff meetings.

·  Provide assistance and support to Case Managers as required or scheduled, including nights and weekends as needed.

·  Participate in court hearings as needed.

·  Participate in the quality improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

·  High School Diploma or GED equivalent

·  Minimum of two years of working with children and families

PREFERRED:

·  Previous experience in a social service organization

·  Ability to establish trusting relationships

·  Awareness of socio-cultural characteristics of service population

·  Ability to observe and accurately report the functioning of individuals and families

·  Effective parenting skills

·  Ability to handle stressful situations

·  Excellent listening skills

·  Ability to make home visits as required

·  Ability to work flexible hours

·  Ability to set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients

·  Ability to handle emergencies and life threatening situations effectively

·  Ability to act decisively when necessary to protect client

·  Ability to travel
