FAMILY FRIDAYS ARE BACK!!
The Kindergarten classes of Ray Lawson Public School are excited to invite you into our classrooms. Family Fridays are a wonderful opportunity to see your child in action and to learn along with us. We look forward to being partners in your child’s education!
What are Family Fridays?
On the last Friday of every month, parents are invited into the classrooms to participate in their child’s learning. Parents or guardians who participate in Family Friday activities will become more familiar with our Kindergarten Program and the experiences that their child has while at school.
Over the course of the year, Family Friday will focus on:
-the value of play-based learning
-the structure of our new kindergarten program (the “4 frames”)
-child development
-the inquiry process (child-led learning)
-the importance of expression (artistic, oral communication, movement)
-noticing, naming and enhancing numeracy skills through play experiences
-fostering a love of reading
-celebrating student work, progress and investigations
