SCHEDULES FOR 2017

GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1.British Riding Clubs recommendPAS015, which provides the greatest protection.

All hats prefixed SE1/ASTMare acceptable.

ASTM is NOT valid on its own; it MUST have the SE1 prefix.

As a Riding club, anybody riding without a hard hat will be asked to leave the

showground.

2. Correct riding dress will be worn in all ridden events.

3. All show jumping classes will be run under BS/Riding Club Rules.

4. Excessive use of whips or spurs or other maltreatment of an animal in or

out of the ring will not be tolerated. Offenders will be liable to have their

entries cancelled and they will be asked to leave the showground.

5. Any decision of any judge is final, subject to Rule 6.

6. Any objection must be lodged with the Secretary within one hour of the

Event andaccompanied by a deposit of £10, which will be forfeited if the

Objection is over-ruled.

7. The Committee reserve the right to cancel, add to or amend any of the

Classes as may be considered necessary.

8. No horse or pony under the age of 4 years should be ridden in show

jumping or dressage classes.

9. The Committee will bear no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage

arising from any cause on or in the vicinity of the showground. It shall be

deemed a condition of entry that each competitor shall agree to indemnify

the Committee against any legal action arising from such an incident.

10. All classes may be limited at the Committee’s discretion. No entry will be

accepted without payment of the correct fee.

11. Entries are accepted at the Committee’s discretion.

12. ARE YOU A TRUE NOVICE? The committee reserve the right to refuse

entry into any class that they do not feel a competitor is entitled to enter.

13. There will be a £1 contribution per rider for First Aid facilities.

  1. A parent or guardian must accompany all minors to Club shows or team events.

15. Any adult attending a show alone must advise the team manager, secretary or steward

they are alone, and fill in an ICE form.

JUDGING AND AWARDS

End of Season Championship points: A trophy to the highest placed Senior and

Junior (show jumping) will be awarded. Senior dressage and Junior merit dressage

trophies will be awarded.

Please note: Only members are eligible for awarded points: Points will be awarded to competitors in Ring 1 as follows: (Pairs and ‘fun’ classes do not merit points.)

Awards: Rosettes to 6th place in all classes except Class one Cross Poles, in which rosettes will be awarded for double clears. 'Specials' are awarded at Judge’s discretion. Results will be split between Juniors and Seniors if entries warrant.

Water: There is no water available on the Club field, so please remember to bring your own. Toilet facilities are available.

Litter: The Committee would be grateful if you would put all litter in the bins provided or take it home with you. The Council require that we keep the field clear of horse droppings. Please help us by clearing your own horses' mess.

Competing for the Club: Please provide at least one show date on which you will eithercompete or assist, in order to qualify for team entry. You must be a Club member for at least 21 days prior to submission of Team entries. Membership cannot be backdated.

Rosettes to 6th place in all Classes with the exception of Class 1, for which there will be no placings but rosettes will be awarded for double clear rounds.

Results will be split between horses and ponies if entries warrant.

Class 1CROSS POLES– For true novices. All fences will be cross poles in the first round and the second round also cross poles but will be timed. Assistance will be provided if required and everyone will complete the course. There will be no placing in this class; rosettes will be awarded for double clear rounds.

Class 250cms- Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have won three firsts in a Novice show Jumping class – fences will not exceed 0.50 m in first round.

Class 360cms - Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have won two firsts in a Novice show Jumping class – fences will not exceed 0.60 m in first round.

Class 470cms- Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have won two firsts in a Novice show Jumping class – fences will not exceed 0.70m in first round

Class 5PAIRS RELAY–Open to all horses and ponies- fences 0.75m.

Class 680cms - Fences will not exceed 0.80m in first round.

Class 790cms- Fences will not exceed 0.90m in first round.

Class 8100cms - Fences will not exceed 1.00m in first round.
