Fall 2017 AP U.S. History Reading Schedule
It is the student’s responsibility to keep up with the America’s History text reading listed below in preparation for multiple-choice quizzes & essays. You should finish reading the chapter by the date listed in parentheses. On or after these dates, you can expect to be assessed on the contents (see monthly calendar). Multiple-choice quizzes will consist of approximately 15-20 questions per chapter based on the assigned reading as well as concepts discussed in class. These tests may also include a short answer question or a document analysis question. Term sheets that are provided to students should assist in focusing preparation for reading tests. Essays will follow either the document based (DBQ) format or the long essay question (LEQ) format. Grading rubrics for both types of essays will be discussed in class frequently. Most essays will be composed in class within a specific time frame. Shorter written homework assignments may also be assigned. Students will receive a detailed calendar of activities and assignment due dates at the start of each month. Dates are subject to change as semester progress, so please consult the updated calendars provided each month, as well as the assignment board in class. Please pay attention to all changes made by the teacher in class.
