About the School District

The Fairborn City School district is located in Fairborn, Ohio, approximately 15 miles from the city of Dayton and approximately 60 miles from Columbus, Ohio.Serving approximately 4472 students, the Fairborn City SchoolDistrict is rated "Effective" by the Ohio Department of Educationand offers an excellent educational environment supported byan outstanding staff, administration and community. Fairborn Primary School, the largest primary school in the region, serves grades Pre-K-3; Fairborn Intermediate School serves grades 4-5; Baker Middle Schoolserves grades 6, 7, and 8.Fairborn City Schools also serves the children from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.The district has embedded within the middle and high school programs two STEM schools focusing on Science and Math and Medical Engineering. Compensation and Terms of Employment

The board anticipates offering the successful candidate a multiyear contract. Salary and benefits are negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications of candidate.

Qualifications

The Fairborn City School Board, along with its staff and community, are seeking a treasurer with leadership capabilities and the desire to assist the district in achieving its educational mission. The ideal candidate must be committed to the highest professional standards, and demonstrate the following:

  • A management style that emphasizes organization, creativity, hands-on-participation, cooperation and an "open door" policy.
  • A proven track record in cash management and responsible investing.
  • Sophisticated business management skills in the areas of long-range planning, fiscal forecasting, personnel management, collective bargaining and insurance management.
  • Expertise in the areas of electronic data processing and at ease with financial software for spreadsheets and forecasts.
  • Successful experiences with levy and/or building campaigns.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate staff, and delegate responsibility as necessary.
  • A positive personality with a high degree of integrity, enthusiasm, energy and dedication.
  • Excellent analytical, listening, verbal and written skills, and the ability to frankly, yet diplomatically, convey pertinent information to the board, superintendent, staff and community.
  • The skill and ability to work effectively with the board and superintendent and serve as a contributing member of the entire management team as well as the community.
