1.  Mission of the study program "Knitwear and products technology"

Mission study program is to prepare engineers at European standards for coordination and management of activities in the following areas:

- Processing of yarns and fibers for obtaining unconventional fabrics;
- Processing of yarns and obtaining woven fabrics , knitted fabrics, woven and hosiery products;
- Processing of knitted and woven textiles for their conversion;
- Technological design and textile design;

The program aims to prepare students study and training skills which give them status professionals for production, education and research.

Skills acquired by graduates:

- Developing creative skills and fashion design;

- Using CAD-CAM systems;

- Designing knitted garments and products;

- The design process manufacturing knitwear garments;

- Design methods of work;

- Effective use of machines and installations;

- Analysis of statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to determine quality objectives and reliable finished product.

- Development of production methods, the use of standards in laboratory testing and analysis to promote effective cost of labor and the use of space.

- Establish design sketches and location of equipment, materials and work place to achieve maximum efficiency, using drawing tools (sketch) and computer.

- Planning and operation of manufacturing and assembly of parts or components of products, in conditions of maximum efficiency.

2.  The objectives of the study program "Knitwear and products technology"

The specific objectives of the program are:

- Training of highly qualified technical specialist for textile industry and for university and education;

- Improvement of engineers- professors in school education in technical textiles for career development;

- Continuous improvement of textile professionals.

The graduate in the field Knitwear and products technology is ready to collaborate with specialists in various fields of engineering, particularly those in industrial engineering and information technology sectors.

Knowledge acquired during undergraduate allow continuous updating training level through home study.

3.  Competences which will be acquired after graduation:

Ø  Professionals:

• Use appropriate professional communication of knowledge, principles and methods for analysis, characterization and selection processes and technologies needed to achieve textiles (C1);

• Use basic knowledge of digital technologies and information systems to design the aesthetic and functional criteria knits and clothing products (C2);

• Troubleshooting problems with dimensioning, operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities related to field (C3);

• Critical - constructive use of basic elements for manufacturing systems management correlated with relevant legislation and market principles (C4);

• Using creative and innovative basic knowledge for designing knits and clothing products and associated processes (C5);

• Apply the conditions of autonomy and responsibility narrower knowledge base for planning, management and coordination of manufacturing of knitted fabrics and garments (C6).

Ø  Transversal:

• Identification of objectives to be achieved, of available resources, the conditions to complete their stages of working, working times, deadlines and related risks achievement (CT1);

• Identification of roles and responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team and applying relating techniques and effective working team (CT2);

• Effective use of information sources and communication resources and training assistance (Internet portals, specialized software, databases, online courses, etc.), both in Romanian and in a foreign language (CT3).
