FACTORY Ursus. The first outlet centre in Poland received the BREEAM In-Use certificate

FACTORY Warszawa Ursus, the first outlet shopping centre in Poland with the
BREEEAM In-Use certificate. International auditors inspected the ecological standards of the structure of the building, application of devices and the sustainable management of the object. Constructed in 2002, FACTORY Ursus is one of five NEINVER outlet centres in Poland.

“The BREEAM In-Use certificate for FACTORY Ursus shows that despite the fact that 12 years have passed since the construction of the centre, we can still pursue the rapidly changing standards in terms of “green building”. It is a matter of consistent policy of the company related to sustainable development and the work of the entire team dedicated to a particular project” - says Marcin Melerski, Site Facility Manager Neinver Polska.

BREEAM auditors inspected the centre in terms of various aspects: accepted standards, procedures, company policy and even the applied devices.

At FACTORY Ursus we paid special attention to maximally use the available utilities, preventing heat, water and power losses. The applied systems and devices are extremely efficient.

The lighting and the operation of electric devices in the building are under special control, adjusted to the intensity of daylight, time of day and the intensity of work of the outlet centre. We are also using energy-efficient light sources, such as LED lamps.

In the toilets we installed water-efficient taps and special valves in the urinals and showers, preventing water losses.

In the cooling systems for devices installed in the outlet centre we are using gases which do not affect the atmospheric composition. The air at the FACTORY Ursus outlet centre is systematically examined and controlled in terms of the content of carbon dioxide in order to provide the highest comfort of shopping for the visitors and of work for the employees.

The installations include energy-efficient devices with a high EER.

All waste is properly segregated and processed. Recycling refers to the waste produced by the customers and by the tenants.

BREEAM means not only eco-standards inside the building, but also the standards in terms of the location of the outlet centre within the agglomeration and the availability of public transport. FACTORY Ursus meets all those standards. You can easily reach the outlet centre by bus or a suburban train. There are also bicycle parking racks installed.

The portfolio of NEINVER in Poland includes currently five FACTORY Outlet centres located in four cities: Warszawa – Ursus and Annopol, Poznań, Wrocław
and Kraków. FACTORY Ursus, opened in 2002, was the first outlet centre in Poland and the first investment of NEINVER on the Polish market.
