A Brief Corporate History
Vanguard Title Company was founed in 1985 by Richard W. Vaughan, a well known real estate attorney in Houston, Texas. The company operated under the name of Ticor Title Services of Houston for the last several years. In May 2004, Residential Title Services, Inc., (“RTS”) purchased Vanguard Title d/b/a Ticor Title Services. The owners of RTS opted to return to the name under which Mr. Vaughan had originally bestowed upon the company and operate all of the RTS branches in Texas under said name. Simultaneously with RTS’ acquistion of Vanguard Title, the Dallas office was opened.
RTS and its affiliates are privately owned and controlled with operations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, Florida and Texas. RTS has plans to expand to other states in the near term.
