Fact Sheet: ACT Cares Scholarship Program 2016
What is the ACT Cares Community Scholarship Program?
Funded by the Account Control Technology Foundation, the ACT Cares Community Scholarship Program is for graduating seniors from high schools located in the five communities surrounding Account Control Technology, Inc.’s offices in Bakersfield, CA; Woodland Hills, CA; Mason, OH; Dallas, TX and San Angelo, TX. Five scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded in each community to graduating seniors who will attend a four-year college or university, for a grand total of 25 scholarship recipients.
Who qualifies to apply?
College-bound seniors must be attending a high school located in one the following counties: California: Kern and Los Angeles Counties; Ohio: Butler, Clermont, Hamilton or Warren Counties; Texas: Dallas, Denton, Collin or Tom Green Counties.
Will students attending specific schools be favored?
No. Students attending any high school located within the specified counties will be considered.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Please review the full application guidelines. Applicants must be a graduating seniors committed to attending a four-year college or university in the fall of 2016. While applicants must be U.S. residents, parental status isn’t considered.
When will applications become available and when are they due?
Applications were made available inJanuary 2016, and they must be postmarked by March 15, 2016.
How are winners determined?
All completed, qualifying applications will be judged primarily on the basis of merit, with some emphasis placed on those demonstrating financial need.
When will scholarships be awarded?
Scholarship recipients will be notified in May, with funds ultimately awarded in August 2016.
