Facility Manager of the Year: Large Facility Manager of the Year

and Small Facility Manager of the Year

1.  The applicant must be a general manager of a country club, commercial tennis facility, public tennis center, resort or similar facility.

2.  Divisions are asked to nominate at least one person each year for this award. A division or a certified member may submit nominations. Self-nominations are acceptable. All information is held in strict confidence. Nominees must be USPTA-certified Members (Master Pro, Elite Pro or Professional Level) in good standing. All other member categories are ineligible, including Recreational Coaches, honorary members and applicants. The Facility Manager of the Year Awards are open to non-USPTA members.

3.  The Managers of the Year awards are judged in several areas, including:

·  Encouraging professional development of facility staff

·  Promotion of tennis in the facility environment

·  Support for USPTA education and professional development opportunities

·  Hiring and supporting USPTA-certified tennis professionals

·  Organizational affiliations and special achievements in the tennis facility industry

·  Contributions to the tennis community

4.  Criteria for small vs. large facilities are as follows:

·  Small facility

o  Size of facility – 10 courts or fewer

o  Size of community – under 500,000 population

·  Large facility

o  Size of facility – more than 10 courts

o  Size of community – above 500,000 population

5.  Please include a color photograph and biographical information.

6.  Please answer the following questions, attaching any applicable support material such as facility literature, newsletter articles and facility policies related to tennis and the tennis staff.

7.  ALL applications can now be submitted as PDFs and submitted via email. Large PDF files may be burned to a CD/DVD and mailed in. The awards committee encourages applicants to submit their applications and all supporting materials in one of the above electronic formats.

8.  The deadline for the USPTA World Headquarters to receive all 2014 award applications is June 17, 2014. Having an application postmarked June 17 is not acceptable and those applications will not be considered by the Awards Committee. Applications submitted via email must be emailed by June 17 at 11:59 p.m. Central time. The entire application and ALL supporting materials must be received on or before the deadline date to be considered. The Awards Committee will not accept applications received after the deadline.
