Both Green Hill Way and Longview schemes are jointly managed between Solihull Community Housing and Solihull Care Trust.

Green Hill Way Extra Care Housing


1-33 Green Hill Way is a sheltered scheme for older people in Solihull. It has self-contained studio flats with their own bathroom and kitchen. Communal facilities include a laundry, first floor lounge, large rear garden suitable for mobility impaired tenants and their visitors, security and safety features and trained staff 24 hours a day. Tenants enjoy the security of the Safe & Sound project through the Horizon units linked to the telephone lines directly through to the officer on duty at Green Hill Way.

Green Hill Way is situated close to local shops and public transport just off the Stratford Road in Shirley.

Longview Extra Care


Longview at 330 - 364 Castle Lane, Olton consists of 18 self-contained studio flats close to shops and public transport. This sheltered scheme for older people is situated at the junction between Castle Lane and Lode Lane and is set back off the road in its own grounds. Communal facilities include a laundry, ground and first floor lounge, large rear garden, security and safety features and trained staff 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. seven days a week. Tenants enjoy the security of the Safe & Sound project through the Horizon units linked to the telephone lines directly through to the officer on duty at Longview. After hours all emergency calls go to Green Hill Way.

The Support Service

The support service is delivered through the staff on duty at Green Hill Way and Longview. While being aware of tenants well being they deal with emergencies, encouraging social activities and make sure that repairs and maintenance issues are dealt with.

They do not directly provide services such as shopping, cooking and personal care but they are able to help co-ordinate these and provide advice when needed. They call tenants every day to see if they are well and carry out monthly visits. Although the costs of the service are met through supporting people grant there may be a small charge.
