CBT Therapists (Bank) / Essential / Desirable
Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Recognised Qualification at Degree Level in CBT.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in CBT or Applied Psychology from a Recognised Training Provider
  • Previous Paid/Voluntary Experience working with Security /Armed Forces Clientele and awareness of the factors impacting same. ( Minimum 100 Hours over the last 3 years)
  • Professional Registration and accreditation as a practitioner with BACP, IACP, actively working towards same or equivalent (evidence / equivalence to be determined by The Ely Centre)

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification supervised clinical practice (accumulating to at least 300 hours post-qualifying supervised practice)
  • Minimum of 2 years CBT practice in a trauma related area.
  • Experience of using specialist knowledge of CBT to treat severe and complex cases of PTSD, anxiety disorders, and other disorders for which CBT is of proven efficacy.
  • Experience with administrative systems including the use of relevant ICT packages
  • Undertaking regular clinical supervision with an approved Supervisor
  • Experience in working with statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of victims/ survivors of terrorism needs and issues, their carers and families
  • Experience in completion of validated psychometric monitoring tools
  • Experience of working with the stepped care model
  • Willingness to Travel to multiple sites.

The criteria may be enhancedThis post will involve ‘regulated activity’ under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order 2007. The Ely Centre will be required to undertake an ‘Enhanced Disclosure of Criminal Background ‘check and posts will only be approved when the check is returned successfully.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Responsible to:Director of Services

Location: As Required (throughout Co Fermanagh, Tyrone & Armagh)

Rates of Pay :£30-35 P/H

Purpose of Role

To work as part of the Ely Centre Psychological and Counselling Team providing CBT Therapy in line with organisational need and individual skill sets. This could involve work across all age ranges and within a number of settings regionally to victims and survivors and retired members of the Security & Armed Forces

Job Summary:

1.To contribute to the work of The Ely Centre in the daily delivery of professional, safe and confidential CBT Therapy.

2.To implement the organisation’s systems, policies and procedures for service delivery.

Job Requirements:

Therapeutic Service Delivery

  1. To assess the needs of clients (level 1, 2 – level 3)and provide CBT Therapy to meet these needs, primarily through one-to one counselling.
  2. To manage risk and safeguarding issues in accordance with appropriate legal and ethical requirements.
  3. To maintain records in accordance with recording procedures.
  4. To regularly attendclinical supervision in accordance with policy and procedures.
  5. To regularly meet with line manager and make them aware of any issues of concern or risk regarding your clients.
  6. To be mindful of the policy of confidentiality when undertaking all duties.
  7. To be willing and able to travel, and to maintain a flexible attitude

Service Quality and Development

  1. Ensure BACP / IACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy is adhered to.
  2. Promote quality assurance in the core values of the Ely Centre in all areas of work.
  3. Implement/record psychometrics (CORE, IESR, PHQ, and GAD) and procedures to determine client / stakeholder satisfaction levels and service impacts in relation to indicators.

General Duties

  1. Work within the parameters of the policies and procedures of the organisation.
  2. Demonstrate commitment to continuous personal and professional development by undertaking appropriate training as required.
  3. To comply with the relevant legislative frameworks relevant to the work.
  4. Ensure you are familiar with relevant local statutory and voluntary sector resources, to enable appropriate signposting and referral on to other services.
  5. In collaboration with the Board of Directors and Director of Services introduce, promote and establish Ely Centre services where appropriate
  6. Utilise the Ely Centre Management and consult support systems for effective information sharing, mutual accountability and quality assurance in particular any issues relating to child protection and areas of risk behaviours or concerns
  7. Ensure prompt and efficient recording referral, assessment and on-going client information as well as timely submission of project monitoring, clinical consult logs , invoices and evaluation tools including written reports as requested
  8. To Work autonomously in successfully managing client workloads, making best use of resources.
  9. Support the work of the Ely Centre, promoting and endorsing its services where appropriate
  10. Sustain relationships with key stakeholders of the Ely Centre for effective internal and external information sharing and continued development of Health and Well Being referrals pathways
