Exporting data from EMISFFE and FTP to EMIS
Select Export Data
You are now at Export Options.
Select the Fiscal Year – Select Fiscal Year
Reporting Period: Select Report Period
Next check each record you will need to include in your export
Now scroll to and select Export File
You will now get the File Download box – Select Save
Save your file on your PC. I’ve created a folder on my desk top for EMISFFE files.
Download Complete box – select Close.
You are back on the Export Options screen. Click Home
From your Home page – select [logout]
Now you need to move your file to your EMIS database.
Login to Reflections
$SET DEF XXXX:[XXXX.xx] (replace xx with the appropriate EMIS database)
Next go to File > Transfer
The File Transfer box will appear
In the Local directories find the location of your file. Once I clicked on my folder, my file (and all files in this directory) appear
Select the File Transfer Protocol = FTP
Transfer Type = ASCII
Now – select Setup
In the Protocol Tab select to Open VMS using WRQ ftp
Now Click on the Translation Tab
Remove the check from Delete trailing spaces
Now – Click OK
You are back to the File Transfer
Now – In the Local - double click on your file name XXXXXX_FFE.SEQ
Once you double click, the file name now appears in the Local file name field and the right arrow becomes active.
Now let’s move the file to the Host by clicking the right arrow.
You are now prompted for your Reflections Username and Password. Enter this information and click OK
File is now copying from your PC to your directory on the alpha.
Once the transfer has completed, you are back to the File Transfer box. Click Close
If you do not want to save the changes to your File/Transfer –
When closing Reflections – do not Save your changes as follows:
If you receive the Save Changes on Exit box
Select Discard
Loading the file to EMIS – using EMSRX
$SET DEF XXXX:[XXXX.xxx] (i.e. – xxx = 10K)
$MENU
$MENU>EMIS
$MENU>EMIS_SEL (select database)
$MENU>EMSRX
This process will create EMSRX.LOG and EMSRX4.TXT.Both located in the users directory.
